We’ve covered so much storytelling that my storage was getting a little overcrowded (spelled that word correctly on the first try. possibly for the first time in my life). So I spent a couple days backing up files in two different place and took the grand step of deleting them off my drawing tablet. It was terrifying.

It’s wild to have spent so much time over the previous two years learning how to tell a story with a beginning, middle, and end; thinking about what it could look like, and to see it come to life is just a thrill. Every time I publish an issue, the overthinking about how to tell that scene just drifts away. After a bit of a routine comedown, I’ve busted out the old quill and inkwell and am scratching away at a new chapter.

Maxine Moore will be back in her office helping other clients, but the things she’s heard and done in recent weeks will not stop cropping up in her mind and even her words. I thumbnailed out the intro of the next issue on a single page. Working small is key to working fast.

She’s going back to the dungeon. I’ll try to balance refining these thumbnails with preliminary sketches of her next session. Thanks as always for visiting the library.
